The new ITSTM (Insulated Timber System) building system developed by RUSTICASA has just obtained the European Technical Assessment required for CE marking. After a year of thorough testing of the separate elements and NATURLAM® panels used in the ITSTM system, the European Organization for Technical Assessment (EOTA) validated the European Technical Assessment (ETA 18/0984) that the Institute for Research and Technological Development for Construction, Energy, Environment and Sustainability (ITeCons), linked to the University of Coimbra, and TecMinho, from the University of Minho, performed on this constructive system.
The evaluation report, which can be consulted on the Technical Documentation page of this site, has been prepared following the European Technical Approval Guideline (ETAG) No. 007 for Timber Construction Kits.
Among the various tests performed by ITeCons and TecMinho, the following tests stand out: mechanical resistance, vapour permeability and moisture resistance, water tightness, content and/or release of dangerous substances, formaldehyde content, airborne sound insulation of walls, floors and roof structures, impact sound insulation of floors, thermal resistance, air permeability and thermal inertia.
We will soon publish a commercial brochure on NATURLAM® components and ITSTM building systems. See the ITSTM page for more details on the building system.
